60 Minutes with Alumni - Sr. Nur Hazwani Afiqah Helmi
What an Inspiring Morning!
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Sr. Nur Hazwani Afiqah Helmi (AHAS KIRKHS, 2022), an inspiring IIUM alumna, for sharing her remarkable journey of growth, courage, and purpose during today’s “60 Minutes with Alumni” session.
The programme, organised by the IIUM Tunas Alumni Club in collaboration with the Alumni Relations Division and four student societies — Jami'yyatu Khadamatil Quran (JKQ), Quranic Youth Club (QYC), Friends of the Library Club (FLIC), and PERKIM Club IIUM — successfully provided a platform for our alumni to share valuable insights and experiences with current IIUM students.
We were honoured by the presence of our Deputy Rector (Student Development and Community Engagement), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Noordin, who graciously made time in his busy schedule to welcome the participants, including IIUM staff and students, guests from SMK Gombak Setia, and of course, Sr. Hazwani, as she returned to her beloved alma mater, the “Garden of Knowledge and Virtue.”
In his remarks, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Noordin highlighted how the spirit of Rahmatan lil-‘Alamin and the values of “Taman Ilmu dan Budi” were clearly reflected in Sr. Hazwani’s humanitarian efforts through The Global Sumud Flotilla Mission.
During the session, Sr. Hazwani shared heartfelt stories from her recent mission experience, stories that reminded us of the importance of steadfast Iman and Taqwa to Allah SWT when facing challenges and trials in bringing hope and relief to others.
May Allah SWT continue to bless her journey, strengthen her resolve, and reward her for her noble efforts in serving humanity for His sake. We pray that her endeavours are filled with barakah and continue to inspire others to lead with faith, compassion, and courage.
